Daily structure
A typical week in the Neurologic Physical Therapy residency program consists of 36 patient care hours and incorporates 5 hours of 1 on 1 hands-on mentoring. Every Thursday, residents rotate with other health care professionals as part of their experiential learning including several subspecialty practice areas of neurology, primary care sports medicine, family medicine, pediatric physical therapy, geriatric medicine, spine physical therapy, orthotics, wheelchair seating, neuro optometry, audiology and otolaryngolgy. Other events that occur during experiential learning days include journal club, research, and grand rounds. On Tuesday afternoons lecture and lab are held to review up to date concepts and practice psychomotor skills.
