Patients & Families
Get informed, get support.
Navigate your cancer journey with support.
Nearly one in two men and one in three women will develop cancer in their lifetime. It is a disease that affects all of us in some way.
At St. Luke’s Cancer Center, you will receive coordinated care – meaning that all of our services will be delivered in a coordinated manner to provide the best quality and outcomes.
Here, you will:
- Be supported throughout your journey: armed with information, resources and experts to deliver the best treatment plan for your particular cancer type and stage.
- Have access to the most advanced technology and therapies; including our Clinical Trials program, our state-of-the-art radiation therapy equipment and leading-edge procedures.
- Receive compassionate care in a welcoming and warm environment close-to-home.
Personalized treatment plan
Each day the medical community is making strides in the battle against cancer. Now more than ever, it is about treating the individual person. Each cancer type and stage is unique and requires a specific plan of treatment. Similarly, each person processes a cancer diagnosis differently and will require a unique level of support.
Your physicians and care team will work with you and your loved ones to determine the best course of action for your exact type of cancer. Some people may require chemotherapy, some may not. Some people may require surgery, some may not. Some may require one radiation therapy session, others may require multiple. We encourage our patients to do their research, come to your appointment with questions and to seek a second opinion if desired. If you don’t know where to start, our experienced counselors and nurse navigators can help.
Dr. Kelly's story
After completing a fellowship at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Tricia Kelly could have practiced anywhere.
Fortunately for us and her patients, she chose St. Luke’s for its commitment to quality, its physician-friendly environment and its accessible, patient-focused culture.
What to expect at your first visit
Just like a regular doctor visit, please bring your insurance card, identification and any relevant medical records with you. During registration, you may be asked to fill out some additional information to help us compile your medical record. If you are transferring from another physician or facility, you may be asked to obtain your previous medical records or complete an authorization form.
Depending on your diagnosis, you may meet with the following members of our care team:
- Medical Oncologist: A physician who specializes in the treatment of cancer and manages your care and symptoms. Medical oncologists also advise on clinical trials and symptom management through palliative care.
- Surgical Oncologist: A surgeon who specializes in the surgical removal of cancer tumors and also may manage your treatment plan. Our surgical oncologists are fellowship-trained and sub-specialize in a particular disease type (example: breast surgeons and thoracic (lung) surgeons).
- Radiation Oncologist: A physician who specializes in radiation therapy, a key tool in treating many types of cancer. Radiation oncologists work with physicists and dosimetrists to deliver precise amounts of radiation to target cancer cells.
Infusion and Radiation Therapy areas limiting visitors
Effective March 23, 2020
Due to COVID-19, we are currently not permitting visitors in our infusion treatment areas or radiation therapy treatment areas. Visitors are encouraged to drop off a patient and provide their cell phone number to our staff so that we can contact them when treatment is over. Exceptions may be allowed for special circumstances such as language barriers. Patients with questions should call 484-503-4673.
We encourage you to bring a loved one with you to your appointments and treatments. Visitors are important to the healing process. If you require a hospital stay, please check our hospital visiting hours.
In some outpatient areas like our Infusion Centers, guidelines have been set to encourage visits while giving patients time to rest and recover.
