Program Requirements
To apply for the SLUHN Research Volunteer Program, all required materials can either be sent electronically to Rachel.Birk@sluhn.org or sent via mail to:

* Please note: if required materials are mailed, they must be received before the designated deadline.
For further consideration, all applications must be received by the dates listed below. Only applications with all the submitted requirements will be considered for review.
Application deadline dates:
October 1 |
(Spring Semester: January - May) |

(Summer Semester: June - August) |

The following information is required in order for your application to be considered:
1. Research Volunteer Application - apply online
2. Letter of Intent (personal statement) addressing:
a. Why you want to volunteer?
b. Any previous experience that supports this decision (include number of hours completed in research)
c. What part of the healthcare field interests you?
3. Current Resume
4. Two Letters of Recommendation: (on letterhead and signed) from your professional advisor or other supervisor noting interpersonal skills, work ethic, and academic abilities.
5. Official College Transcripts: Applicants must have completed at least 30 college credits with a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA to be considered.
Please be sure to follow these specific instructions:
The letters of recommendation need to come directly from the person sending them and in this case you may not receive them. Before they send it, please remember to advise them to make sure it is on their official letterhead and signed by them. It can then be accepted directly from their offices via email or mail.
The official transcripts need to come directly from the school’s administrative office. If mailed, it will need to be close with the school’s official seal. If sent electronically, please provide them with the address, Rachel.Birk@sluhn.org in order for it to be received.
All applications will be reviewed and considered by the SLUHN Research Volunteer Committee, and candidates will be notified by email of decisions and next steps within 30 days of the application deadlines.
