Educational Activities
Fellows will receive multidisciplinary clinical and didactic instruction in current practice of critical care. Our educational curriculum highlights include:
- Leading the ICU rounding team rounding for the Surgical, Neuro, Cardiac, and Medical critical care services
- Comprehensive clinical training from a robust team across many different specialties
- Point of Care Critical Care Ultrasound Training
- Directing and overseeing trauma alerts and resuscitations
- Training in advanced trauma and critical care skills, such as REBOA, bronchoscopy, advanced ventilation strategies, renal replacement therapy, ECMO and more
- Online structured didactic curriculum with biweekly review sessions with faculty member
- Mentorship program pairing each fellow with an established attending physician
- Supplemental critical care workshops and lecture series focusing on various aspects of advanced critical care skills
- Optional international rotation with SLISS, the St. Luke’s International Surgical Studies group, with current projects in Cameroon and Guatemala
- Many elective rotations available, including: Palliative medicine, burn, transplant, toxicology, EMS and critical care transport, research, and more
- Participation in trauma center PI and exposure to trauma center operations
- Annual In-training examination
- Present at critical care grand rounds and critical care quality improvement
- Actively participate in education of advanced practitioners, residents, and medical students
