Mentorship

Mentoring has evolved as an important, if not critical, tool for professional development in Graduate Medical Education (GME). At St. Luke’s University Health Network, mentoring is a valued part of our educational and professional programs. Informal and formal mentoring partnerships thrive in our environment. Mentoring can take many roles: clinical skills coach, sponsor, life coach, or role model. These roles provide valuable opportunities to support and guide residents through their educational, professional, and personal development. Residents and students are paired with mentors in a variety of settings, and senior residents learn how to be mentors themselves. St. Luke’s values and appreciates the crucial role our mentors play in providing guidance and support to our learners as they continue their graduate medical education.
