Community Outreach

Building connections with our communities.

Supporting active living in your neighborhood.

St. Luke's Sports Medicine's Community Ambassador Program builds partnerships with professional athletes. These athletes serve as role models, inspiring students to achieve personal and athletic excellence. They also participate in community activities, empowering individuals of all ages to embrace a more active lifestyle.

St. Luke’s brings professional and collegiate athletes to our community as sports ambassadors because…

  1. Role Models — Athletes often serve as role models, particularly for young people. Their dedication, hard work and achievements in sports can inspire.
  2. Visibility and Influence — Professional athletes have a significant public profile, which can help raise awareness for community causes.
  3. Credibility — Athletes are generally respected for their discipline and achievements. When they support a cause, it lends credibility and legitimacy, encouraging others to get involved or support the initiative.
  4. Community Connection — Many athletes have strong ties to their communities, either where they grew up or where they play professionally.
  5. Increased Engagement — Athletes can attract people to community events and initiatives simply by their presence. Their participation can lead to higher attendance, greater engagement, and more successful outcomes for community programs.
  6. Promoting Health and Wellness — Athletes naturally embody the values of health and fitness. As ambassadors, they can promote physical activity, healthy eating, and overall well-being, aligning with public health initiatives.
  7. Philanthropy — Many athletes are involved in charitable work. As ambassadors, they can help fundraise and support local charities, providing both financial assistance and a platform to highlight the charity’s mission.
  8. Bridging Gaps — In diverse communities, athletes can act as unifying figures, bringing together people from different backgrounds, cultures, and socioeconomic statuses through their shared love of sports.
  9. Positive Representation — Athletes can represent the community positively on a national or even global stage. Their success and positive involvement can reflect well on their home community, instilling pride and a sense of belonging among community members.

Offering holistic care through the region.

Through partnerships with schools and community-based organizations, St. Luke’s Sports Medicine provides holistic care to children and families. Our efforts include various types of health, including:

  • Academic
  • Social
  • Emotional
  • Physical

Wherever you are in the greater Lehigh Valley region, you’ll have access to comprehensive support.

Name, Image, Likeness (NIL)

The NCAA's interim NIL policy now enables student-athletes to receive compensation for their name, image, and likeness outside official school activities. At St. Luke's, this policy allows high school and college athletes to monetize their NIL through community service and giving back. Are you an athlete interested in using your NIL to earn money while supporting your community? Contact us to learn more.
