Rotation Schedule

We offer an X + Y curriculum which features six weeks of inpatient rotations followed by two weeks of ambulatory training at our continuity clinic site. This style curriculum minimizes the conflict between inpatient and outpatient clinical responsibilities.

    Night Float 6

    First year residents have a separate night float rotation. They will do an average of 7 days on and 7 days off during a 2 week block. They are always on service with a senior resident. Night float is from 7:30 pm to 8 am the following day. During the days on General Medicine, first year residents will have a long call shift approximately every 4 days from 7:30 am-7:30 pm. First year residents do not do 24 hour shifts and will not take call during Non-General Medicine or Critical Care rotations.

    PGY 2 residents have a separate night float rotation. During General Medicine months, the PGY 2 senior will do long call every fourth day from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm. They will also have call on Critical Care months.

    Electives-radiology, ENT, dermatology, allergy & immunology, heart failure rotation, cardiac electrophysiology rotation, echocardiography rotation, sleep medicine, hospice palliative care, office urology, office orthopedics, women’s health, office primary care in a faculty practice setting, sports medicine, research
