Robert Langan, MD, FAAFP Named 2015 Exemplary Teacher of the Year

Robert C. Langan, MD, FAAFP, recently was named 2015 Exemplary Teacher of the Year Award by the Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians.

Langan is the St. Luke’s Family Medicine Residency program director and Medical Director, St. Luke’s Family Medicine Center, both of which are located in Bethlehem.

The PAFP is the professional association for more than 5,000 Pennsylvania family physicians and family medicine residents and students. It is associated with the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Langan attended Albany Medical College in Albany, N.Y. and earned his residency from the Family Medicine Residency at the Naval Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. He served in active duty for the U.S. Navy at the Naval Hospital in Cherry Point, N.C., in active reserves at Bethesda Naval Hospital with Detachment K, and mobilized under Operation Enduring Freedom at the Naval Hospital in Pensacola.

Langan holds several appointments, including national faculty with Core Content of Family Practice and a fellowship with the American Academy of Family Physicians, and has been published in such journals as American Family Physician, Osteopathic Family Physician, and the Journal of Family Practice.
