Scope of Services
Your treatment plan is individualized to meet your specific needs. Some of the advanced medical treatments and surgical procedures listed below may be offered depending on the nature of your pain.
Epidural Injections
An epidural injection places anti-inflammatory medicine into the epidural space to stop inflammation of the nerve roots, therefore reducing the pain in the affected area.

Cervical Thoracic and Lumbosacral Nerve Root Blocks
A selective nerve root block serves to prove which nerve is causing the pain by placing temporary numbing medicine and provides information allowing for proper treatment, which may include limited surgery at a specific location. The procedure serves both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.

Spinal Cord and Peripheral Nerve Stimulation
Neurostimulation works by intercepting pain signals before they reach the brain. To do this, a small system is implanted within the body. A trial is performed before permenant implantation to determine if this is the right system for the patient. This system, similar to a cardiac pacemaker, is used to replace pain with a different feeling. Some people describe this feeling as a gentle massaging sensation or, in some cases, simply the absence of pain.

Sacroiliac Joint Injections
This injection helps to confirm or deny the joint as a source of the pain; allows a physical therapist to treat the joint; and reduces any presumed inflammation within the joint. The procedure serves both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.

Discography
A discography confirms or denies the disc(s) as a source of your pain. It uses a small needle to inject contrast dye into your disc.

Cervical, Thoracic and Lumbar Medial Branch (Facet) Radiofrequency Neurotomy (Rhizotomy)
A medial branch radiofrequency neurotomy is a non-surgical procedure which cauterizes the nerves (through very localized heating) that allow you to feel pain caused by your facet joints. To learn more, watch the video.
