During the PGY2-PGY4 years, integrated IR residents share the same didactic lecture schedule as DR residents. In the PGY5-PGY6 years, the lecture schedule diverges to provide advanced training specific to IR: didactic sessions and case-based conferences (at least 2 hours weekly). Didactic lectures are structured in a logical sequence to enable residents to maximize knowledge retention, delve into the rationale and evidence behind various procedures.
Multidisciplinary Conferences and Weekly Didactic Sessions
As part of our commitment to a well-rounded education, our residents participate in multidisciplinary conferences a few times a week.
Case-Based Conferences
Our case-based conferences are designed to mirror real-life scenarios and get residents ready for the oral board. These interactive sessions pose a series of questions that stimulate critical thinking and hone decision-making skills, preparing residents to assume consultative roles as future interventionalists.
