Federal Relations

The Government & Community Relations Department is responsible for the federal lobbying and advocacy efforts of the Network. The department continuously monitors legislation and policy issues, develops the federal advocacy position for the Network, and seeks appropriation funding to support the needs of the Network. The department identifies changing regulations impacting healthcare and recommends appropriate responses. The Department is actively involved in the implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), also known as the Federal health care reform legislation, and other regulatory changes impacting health care. Staff members also serve as the point of contact for elected officials and work closely with the members of the Pennsylvania delegation and their staffs.
