About our program

The Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) Internship Program is a full time intensive educational and clinical application residency aimed at preparing a select group of novice RNs for independent practice in any critical care unit at St. Luke’s University Health Network.

Internship facts

  • Bridge the preparation to practice gap

  • Critical care clinical orientation is scheduled at critical care units within the St. Luke’s network.
  • Content
    • AACN ECG Module
    • AACN Essentials of Critical Care Orientation (ECCO)
    • Workshops, simulation, and clinical rotations in all critical areas with dedicated preceptor/coaches
    • Clinical observations in specialty departments including Emergency Department, OR, Respiratory, PACU, and Pre-hospital Critical Care Transport Services.
    • Focused testing and skill validation throughout
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support

  • The interview process may include a Panel Interview & Shadow Experience
  • If selected, candidates will sign a commitment agreement
