Since having bariatric surgery my health has gotten so much better.– Jennifer
In 2011 I found out that I had diabetes and I cried because my grandfather and father had both died from it. One night after eating a healthy dinner, my sugar level spiked to 250 and because I was not insulin dependent I didn’t know what to do to get it down. While looking information up on the internet I saw the link to St. Luke’s Bariatric Program and that weight loss surgery had a good chance on curing diabetes.
Since having bariatric surgery my health has gotten so much better. The last time I took my Metformin was the morning of surgery and was officially cured in April 2013. I no longer worry like I did before about losing my feet or needing dialysis like my family has. I know I now have a better chance of meeting and enjoying my future grandchildren, unlike my father and grandfather did.
Weight loss surgery really is an excellent tool to get your health and your life back. Anything worth having is worth fighting for and I am worth fighting for.
