I was determined not to let that happen to me. I’m an Air Force veteran and a fighter – I had to find a solution. Having the surgery was one of the best decisions of my life. I feel younger and am doing things I never thought I would do. I’m going back to school for my masters in Homeland Security. My loved ones are proud of me, and my children see me as a hero. My advice to others: follow your heart, give and get help where needed, follow the rules of the program and once you achieve your goals, give back by helping others succeed in their journey.
