A person’s health is defined as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease. As a physician, it is imperative to address all of these components when providing optimal patient care. We have general medical guidelines, but each patient’s presentation is unique. Therefore, my primary aim is to spend sufficient time considering an accurate diagnosis, tailor a personalized treatment plan for your exact condition, and provide the necessary patient education to attain patient goals. True progress cannot be made without finding and addressing the root cause of your issue, whether biomechanical, ergonomic, inflammatory, stress-related or perhaps some combination of the above. Once we identify and explain the origin of the pain generator, then we can work to disrupt the cycle of re-injury.
Graduating summa cum laude from the University of Bridgeport School of Chiropractic, I am a national board-certified chiropractic physician (DC) and certified primary spine practitioner (PSP, attained via the University of Pittsburgh). I provide conservative care for spinal-related disorders as well as a wide range of musculoskeletal disorders, with an emphasis on evidence-based methods. Utilizing a variety of manual mobilization/manipulation, directional preference, and soft tissue techniques, I am especially passionate about providing timely intervention and coordinating care within an integrated, multidisciplinary setting.
Before joining St Luke’s, I helped facilitate the development of an integrated spine care program at Beth Israel Deaconess - Plymouth Hospital in Massachusetts, starting there shortly after the program’s inception and serving as associate director. I received the Honored Caregiver Award multiple times receiving. Operating within the hospital system allowed me the highest honor of presenting grand rounds and in-service programs. My primary role, however, was to provide patient-centered care by:
- Triaging patients from the emergency department, urgent care clinics, and primary care offices.
- Arranging for any necessary testing and imaging
- Collaborating with primary care physicians, physical and occupational therapists, and orthopedics, physiatry, and neurosurgery specialists to attain optimal outcomes for the patient.
I take great pride in being a great listener and providing exceptional care to all patients, whether professional athletes, former prime ministers, office workers, manual laborers, or MVA/WC cases.
Outside the office, I enjoy skiing, tennis, hiking, going to the beach, finding great pizza and living healthy (unless pizza is involved), but most of all, spending time with my wife, two boys, and dog.
