I did my undergraduate work at the University of Notre Dame where I was a varsity swimmer. After a few years working as a mental health technician, I went to medical school in my hometown at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Later, I went to New York for my Internal Medicine residency, completing three years at St. Vincent's Hospital Catholic Medical Center in Manhattan. There, I was selected to be Chief Resident and oversaw the training and education for hundreds of residents during my Chief Residency year. Additionally, I decided to stay at St. Vincent's Hospital for my Fellowship training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Afterward, I performed my Transplant Hepatology training at Mt. Sinai Hospital.
I love the field of Gastroenterology and enjoy the diverse problems in the field. Having worked in a rural clinical practice, I am proud to say I give complete care. Since starting my training, and in seven years of clinical practice, I have performed over ten thousand Endoscopies and Colonoscopies.
I am so excited to be a part of the St. Luke's University Health Network team. I am determined to deliver excellence in patient satisfaction and standards of care.

“I had been putting off an appointment for a colonoscopy, because, let's be honest, no one is excited to get this done. I was able to get an appointment with Dr. Malcolm and I couldn't have been happier. He spent time going over everything and was extremely patient and understanding. He made me feel very comfortable and I never felt rushed. He's a great asset to your network of doctors and I'm happy to have found him.”

“I was referred to Dr. Malcom by one of my other St. Luke's providers. This was the first time I had ever been in Dr. Malcolm's office. He was very personable, very kind, attentive and showed compassion and concern with what my concerns have been. He spoke with me as an active partner in my own care, which Is such a rare but essential part of excellent care. Dr. Malcom is an absolute GEM and exhibits so much of what medicine should and could be. I'm so thankful to be under his care. I drive a great distance and it is a pleasure to do so knowing I'm in the best hands. His staff is also kind. What a great team.”

“This was mg very first appointment with Dr. Malcolm and I couldn't have asked for my appointment to be any better than what it was. I have been dealing with a lot of stomach issues for the last 4 years. I have seen a couple gastro doctors and this is the FIRST time I actually felt HEARD and UNDERSTOOD. To hear what he was thinking was such a breath of fresh air because it was exactly what I was saying to other doctors and I was ignored and was made to feel like this was all in my head. Doctor Malcolm did not know any of this at the time of my appointment. So for him to physically say what I have been trying to get other gastro doctors to sat, was the biggest relief ever. I, for the first time, feel confident that Dr. Malcolm WILL BE the doctor who finally helps me get to the bottom of what has been going on with me for the last 4 years. Thank you Dr. Malcolm for giving me the hope, in just one appointment, that I will get answers to my stomach issues! Look forward for this healing journey!”
