I am passionate about preventive care and am a proponent of equipping patients and their parents with the knowledge needed to take their healthcare in their own hands. I believe nothing is too difficult for a patient and their parents to understand. I emphasize well-child visits where issues such as immunizations, nutrition, exercise, safety, developmental milestones and school or learning difficulties are addressed. I also ensure that my patients are seen for acute illnesses between their well-child checks. I act as a liaison between my patients and any specialists they may need by referring them to the appropriate specialists and helping them navigate the system.
A board-certified pediatrician who cares for patients from infancy to adolescence, I graduated from the University of Ibadan College of Medicine in Nigeria in 2004 and moved to the United States in 2012 for graduate study in public health at Harvard University in Boston. I have practiced pediatrics in various cultural settings, ranging from resource-poor communities in Nigeria to diverse and fast-paced New York City.
