My goal as a physician and surgeon is to make each one of my patients feel like family. I guide them through the stressful process of deciding whether a surgical procedure is right for them, and I am with them when they need me. Early in my career, I became interested in laparoscopy because this minimally invasive surgery is less painful and enables patients to recover faster. Since then, my practice has continued to focus on laparoscopy. I have more than 25 years of extensive experience and expertise in the field. My laparoscopic procedures range from laparoscopic hernia repair to complex laparoscopic colon surgery.
I graduated from the Autonomous University of Guadalajara, Mexico School of Medicine. I completed my general surgery residency at Easton Hospital and Western Reserve Care System in Youngstown, Ohio. I joined St Luke’s University Health Network in October 2016 after being in private practice for several years. Recently, I was appointed professor adjunct to Temple University Lewis Katz School of Medicine. I am also a clinical preceptor faculty member at Kings College Department of Physician Assistant Studies.
I enjoy spending time with my family, summer days, beach vacations and of course, enjoying my childhood passion of soccer. My all-time favorite soccer player is Pele (Edson Arantes do Nascimento).
