St. Luke's Family Medicine - Anderson
I feel strongly that patients receive the best care when they have a primary care physician who knows them well. I strive to get to know my patients so that I can provide the type of care that meets their needs the best. I want patients to feel comfortable coming to see me and feel open in talking to me about concerns that they may have. When I was growing up, I was always nervous about going to doctors’ visits and my goal is to be sure that my patients don’t feel that way.
I grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs and went to Drexel University School of Medicine and after that, completed my family medicine residency at Abington Hospital. My husband is from the Lehigh Valley and after I finished my residency in 2006, we moved back to the Lehigh Valley and I started working in Brodheadsville (Pocono Area) and then Macungie before joining the team at St. Luke’s Family Medicine – Anderson.
I enjoy providing care for all ages, from newborns to senior citizens. I also enjoy teaching residents and medical students and am excited that St. Luke’s shares my passion for educating the next generation of clinicians.
The most important thing that patients can do is talk to their doctor! Let me know what you are worried about, or what you are feeling. If there is something on your mind that concerns you, it’s ok to ask about it. Let me help!
I love living in the Lehigh Valley and enjoying all that it has to offer. My family and I can often be found cheering on the Iron Pigs at Coca-Cola Park and we are sure to catch some Phantoms games as well. My husband is a Penn State grad and we are all big Penn State football fans at my house. My kids are 8 and 11, so I spend most of my time out of work cheering for my son’s baseball and basketball teams, enjoying my daughter’s dance recitals and helping her with her Girl Scout cookie sales. As you might imagine, I am an excellent driver of the proverbial “Mom Taxi.”

“I love this office and I love Dr. Block. She is exceptional and she should be teaching all of your other physicians at other offices how it's done. Your office is also exceptional and other offices should learn from them, especially the Sigal center. After my first experience with Dr. Block, I had recommended her to my adult daughter, her boyfriend, his mother, my two teenagers and two of my own patients - all of whom switched to Dr. Block and have been very happy with her, as well.”

“Dr. Block has been a primary care physician for both of my daughters. She has been exceptionally supportive and empathetic throughout their childhood and teenage years. She has managed challenging and sensitive issues in a way where both of my daughters felt heard and understood. My daughters' father left the family when my youngest was just born. His involvement in their lives has been highly challenging at times and Dr. Block navigated these appointments with wisdom and grace. For example, my older daughter dealt with an eating disorder when she was in high school. Dr. Block's care helped me get her on the right treatment path immediately and -- within a year -- she was fully recovered. She has always spent as much time as needed to effectively manage their treatment needs and make them feel like she cares about them as whole people, not just another appointment. In the midst of a network, I know this must be challenging to make this kind of time. We are so grateful for her!”
