Once again, St. Luke's University Health Network has received a Top Workplaces award in the large employer category from The Morning Call. This is the third year in a row that St. Luke’s has been recognized as a top workplace by the newspaper.
St. Luke’s was the ONLY healthcare institution named in the large employer category, repeating the exclusive honor for the third year in a row. The Network also received the Top Workplaces “Values” award for its continued and outstanding commitment to values and culture.
The Morning Call announced the awards at a ceremony Wednesday evening, two weeks after Forbes published the magazine’s America's Best Large Employers 2025 list, which ranked St. Luke’s among the best large employers in the nation.
“These recognitions are a credit to our employees,” said Evan Ochs, Senior Vice President of Human Resources for St. Luke’s. “Our employees are our secret sauce. They are caring, compassionate, hardworking and committed to excellence. They care for our patients, and they also care for each other. Our employees make St. Luke’s one of the best employers locally and in the nation, and our leaders support and recognize our employees for their efforts every single day.”
The Top Workplaces list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a confidential third-party survey administered by Energage LLC, an employee engagement technology company. The survey measures 15 culture drivers that are critical to the success of any organization, including alignment, execution, and connection.
Of more than 40,000 organizations nationally that participate, roughly 3 percent earn a Top Workplaces designation annually.
“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “That's something to be proud of. In today's market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That's paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”
Separately, in its America's Best Large Employers 2025 list, Forbes magazine ranked St. Luke’s:
- #1 in Pennsylvania in the health care industry category
- In the top five in the health care industry category nationally
- In the top 20 for all industries nationally
- #18 overall, following closely behind companies like Houston Methodist (#3), Google (#6), and Apple (#12).
