Community Health Needs Assessment Meetings

August 13, 2025

St. Luke’s University Health Network recently completed its triennial Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and will present the findings in a series of public presentations. The community is encouraged to attend these sessions and participate in the discussion.

As part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, nonprofit hospitals are required to conduct a CHNA every three years to maintain tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The goal of the assessment is to identify critical health disparities faced by populations within St. Luke’s service areas. The assessments reflect health priorities identified by community stakeholders, hospital professionals and public health experts.

"We are excited to share that we are the only locally governed regional health network to collect over 15,000 surveys as part of our CHNA," said Rajika Reed, Ph.D., MPH, M.Ed., St. Luke’s Vice President of Community Health. "This ensured that our local community members were able to have their voices heard."

Additionally, regional implementation plans are developed to build collaborative partnerships that support the allocation of resources to address the specified health needs.

St. Luke’s will be presenting the CHNA community meetings at the following dates and times. (These events are free; however, registration is required.)

“We thank our communities who have been a part of our Community Health Needs Assessment process since 2013,” Reed added. "This provided valuable data that we are looking forward to sharing with you. Please join us to learn more about our communities.”
