New Pediatric ICU Division Chief at St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital

St. Luke’s University Health Network is pleased to announce that Jambunathan Krishnan, MD, has been named the Division Chief of the Network’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
“Dr. Krishnan brings to St. Luke’s extensive pediatric experience from a number of top-tier hospitals and we look forward to working with him to continue growing our services at St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital,” says Jessika Haynos, St. Luke’s Pediatrics Vice President.
Most recently, Dr. Krishnan worked at the University of California, San Francisco. Before that, he was the first program director of the fellowship program at the Michigan State, Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.
He completed a residency at St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital in Paterson, NJ, and pursued his interest in critical care medicine by completing a pediatric critical care fellowship at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Previously, Dr. Krishnan received his medical degree and completed his first residency at the Dayanand Medical College and Hospital in Punjab, India. He then practiced as a pediatrician at the University College of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India, where he trained medical students and residents.
As the PICU Division Chief, Dr. Krishnan is responsible for clinical and administrative oversight. With a special interest in pediatric sedation and experience in developing pediatric sedation programs, Dr. Krishnan looks forward to growing this program at St. Luke’s. Dr. Krishnan expertise in deep-level sedation ensures that “the patient is calm, comfortable and safe while undergoing the procedures needed for the child’s care.”
St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital provides top-notch, family-centered care for children. Its board-certified pediatric hospitalists, pediatric intensivists and specialized pediatric nurses are available 24/7 to ensure each child receives the best care.
The PICU at the Children’s Hospital provides care to children from birth through adolescence with acute illness or injury. Pediatric intensivists collaborate with St. Luke’s team of pediatric specialists to provide care to patients.
