Recognition as One of the Most Wired Health Care Systems
October 18, 2023
The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) announced this month that St. Luke’s University Health Network is one of the Most Wired healthcare systems nationally, earning a Level 9 rating for acute and ambulatory care. This marks the 11th year St. Luke’s has earned this rating.
“Our information technology team is committed to implementing the best virtual care on the most secure network possible,” said St. Luke’s CIO Chad Brisendine. “We value the close relationship we have with operations because it helps take the care we can offer patients to the highest level.”
Among the more than 55,000 facilities represented in the Most Wired survey, St. Luke’s ranked above other systems in categories like analytics and data management, population health, infrastructure, and patient engagement. The survey assessed the adoption, integration and impact of technologies in health care organizations at all stages of development, from early development to industry leading.
Success in digital health is increasingly important because of the integral role it plays in patient care. The future of health and the care that people envision over the next 30 years will be a world apart from what it is now. Using a strategic roadmap to navigate the myriad of change helps St. Luke’s heed the call to transform healthcare through technology.
The eight segments St. Luke’s was surveyed for include: infrastructure; security; business/disaster recovery; administrative/supply chain; analytics/data management; interoperability/population health; patient engagement; and clinical quality/safety.
“Digital transformation in healthcare has accelerated to an unprecedented level since 2020, and the next few years will bring a wave of innovation that empowers healthcare consumers and will astound the industry,” said CHIME President and CEO Russell P. Branzell. “The Digital Health Most Wired program recognizes the outstanding digital leaders who have paved the way for this imminent revolution in healthcare. Their trailblazing commitment to rapid transformation has set an example for the entire industry in how to pursue a leadership vision with determination, brilliant planning and courage to overcome all challenges.”
