Gastroenterology Specialists Opens New Office in Palmerton

St. Luke's Gastroenterology Specialists is pleased to welcome Joseph Minissale, DO, to their new office in Palmerton.
"Dr. Minissale brings a wealth of expertise to St. Luke's Gastroenterology Specialists as he practiced for more than 25 years," says Sarah Halpin, Director of Operations at St. Luke's University Health Network.
"His knowledge and expertise will help us expand our provider complement in Palmerton and provide additional GI services to the community.”
The new office - which opened earlier this year - is located at St. Luke’s Health Center – Palmerton, 614 Delaware Avenue, Suite 101 in Palmerton. Patients will be seen in the St. Luke’s Palmerton Primary Care practice suite in the same building as the St. Luke’s Care Now.
The new office and additional physician will benefit St. Luke's Gastroenterology Specialists’ patients in Carbon County.
“Our new location provides the residents of Carbon County, specifically those in Palmerton and Lehighton, with access to care right in their neighborhood," Halpin notes.
“We are now able to provide GI services, including office consults, screening and diagnostic procedures, in the Palmerton/Lehighton region.”
Dr. Minissale practices general gastroenterology and sees patients with acute GI symptoms as well as chronic gastrointestinal disease. A graduate of the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, he is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
In 2019, Dr. Minissale was named a “Top Doctor” in gastroenterology by Philadelphia Magazine and he is certified in gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
