This fall, Worth & Company, Inc. hosted its 5th Annual Charity Golf Outing at Lederach Golf Club in Harleysville, PA. Each year, the company generously selects a local charity to receive the funds raised from the outing; and this year’s beneficiary was the St. Luke’s Healthy Kids, Bright Futures program. The gift – which totaled just over $100,000 – supported the build of specially-designed adaptive toy cars and bikes for children with mobility restrictions and will help equip a new St. Luke’s mobile health van.

“Every year we submit a list of charities to be voted on for this fundraiser. We have a soft spot in our heart for pediatrics and special needs. It was an incredible honor for us to present St. Luke’s with the proceeds from our 2019 Golf Outing,” said Stephen Worth, President/CEO of Worth & Company, Inc.

It was a picture-perfect day on the course, and the company’s largest turnout to-date. More than 150 golfers played and 128 event sponsors and donors showed their support.

Stephen Worth presented the check to Lee Levicoff, Network Vice President of Planning and Construction Management, St. Luke’s University Health Network.

As part of its Healthy Kids, Bright Futures program, St. Luke’s operates a fleet of mobile health vans that serve local at-risk children, providing them with much-needed medical, dental, and vision care. The Network currently operates five vans, with a portion of the Golf Outing funds being dedicated to the launch of a sixth.

The donation also supported the development of adaptive toy cars and bikes that were recently presented to children with mobility restrictions. A team of volunteers and St. Luke’s Physical Therapists assembled the cars and bikes, which will allow their recipients to ride along with their peers and not miss out on an activity that every child should experience.
