St. Luke’s Care Now Opens 14th Walk-In Center in Whitehall

May 07, 2018

Community invited to tour facility, celebrate opening May 12.

Convenient access to quality St. Luke’s walk-in care is now available in Whitehall. The newest of 14 St. Luke’s Care Now facilities, the Care Now-Whitehall location at 2402 MacArthur Road, north of the malls, opened today – Monday, May 7.

Members of the community can see all that St. Luke's Care Now-Whitehall has to offer during a Community Open House on Saturday, May 12, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. The open house will feature light refreshments, free health screenings, kids activities and giveaways to celebrate the opening.

  • What: St. Luke's Care Now-Whitehall Community Open House
  • When: Saturday, May 12, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon
  • Where: 2402 MacArthur Road, Whitehall, PA

Visitors will be able to tour the facility, learn about the services available and meet the care team, which includes doctors, advanced practice nurses, nurses, medical assistants and radiology technicians.

“We are very excited to bring our St. Luke’s Care Now walk-in center to the Whitehall area,” said Joe Cunningham, Senior Network Director of Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine Services at St. Luke’s University Health Network.

Care Now is not intended to replace an individual’s primary care physician or manage chronic health concerns. Instead, St. Luke’s Care Now-Whitehall provides treatment when a patient's family doctor is unavailable, or when a patient's injury or illness requires immediate attention but is not an acute emergency. Patients will find it convenient for fever and flu-like symptoms, sinus infections, bronchitis, sprains, strains, broken bones, dislocations, cuts, minor burns, animal bites and other minor medical concerns.

“Because the cost of care is usually lower than an emergency room visit, Care Now is a time-efficient and cost-effective option,” Cunningham said.

No appointment is ever needed. In addition to walk-in medical care, St. Luke’s Care Now locations offer onsite diagnostic testing such as lab and X-ray and comprehensive occupational medicine services to employers. Patients also are able to take home many common prescription medications.

St. Luke’s Care Now-Whitehall is the 14th walk-in care center operated by St. Luke’s. Other centers are located in Allentown, Bethlehem, Brodheadsville, Center Valley, Emmaus, Hamburg, Jim Thorpe, Lehighton, New Ringgold, Pennsburg, Quakertown and Wind Gap in Pennsylvania, and in Clinton, New Jersey.

St. Luke’s Care Now-Whitehall’s hours will be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week. It is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. St. Luke’s Care Now-Whitehall is located at 2402 MacArthur Road.

St. Luke’s Care Now-Whitehall's phone number is 484-426-2026. For complete information on all St. Luke’s Care Now locations, services and hours, visit www.stlukescarenow.org.
