One Weekend, Two Big Events at Site of New St. Luke's Quakertown Campus

September 27, 2018

Friends of St. Luke’s Quakertown present two special events on the site of the new campus construction in Milford Township: The fourth annual Evening with the Artist will benefit St. Luke’s Quakertown Behavioral Health Unit, and Dining Under the Stars will support the new hospital building capital campaign.

On Friday, September 28 at 6 PM, award-winning guitarist, vocalist and songwriter, Craig Thatcher will entertain with classic rock and blues standards as well as original tunes.  Tickets include an appetizer buffet; a cash bar will be available.  Beginning at 5 PM on Saturday, September 29, Dining Under the Stars will feature an al fresco meal served family style at farmhouse-style tables.  Leaf Cigar Bar executive chef, Heather Williams, Brick Tavern Inn chef, Jim Druckenmiller, chef/owner of Savory Grille, Shawn Doyle, Spinnerstown Hotel Restaurant & Taproom head chef, Nate Weida, and Dolce Patisserie chef/owner, Alan Pitotti, will each prepare a unique course featuring food sourced from local farms. The dinner will also include a wine pairing featuring wines from Maple Springs Vineyards.

Like the Evening with the Artist the night before, Dining Under the Stars will be held under a tent on the future site of St. Luke’s new 80-bed hospital on a 30-acre parcel at Route 663 and Portzer Road. Proceeds from the dining event will benefit Building for a Healthier Tomorrow – A Campaign for St. Luke’s in Quakertown.  For more information on the campaign, visit:  https://www.slhn.org/development/what-you-can-support/building-for-our-future/building-for-a-healthier-tomorrow-a-campaign-for-stlukes-in-quakertown.  The new $100 million campus will be the largest project ever in the history of the area. Groundbreaking took place this past spring and the opening is scheduled for the fall of 2019.

“We look forward to a weekend of exciting happenings on the site of our new campus,” said Dennis Pfleiger, President of St. Luke’s Quakertown.  “Craig Thatcher’s been a strong partner for our community and St. Luke’s Behavioral Health initiatives.  He always put on an excellent show.  On Saturday, Dining Under the Stars will be a unique foodie experience bringing together so much chef talent for one special evening.  Both events are not to be missed.”
