Bethlehem, PA (11/17/2016) – Dr. Alaa-Eldin Mira, Chief of Geriatric Medicine at St. Luke’s University Health Network, has been appointed Medical Director at Holy Family Manor, a nursing and rehabilitation center in Bethlehem.Alaa-Eldin Mira, MD
The mission of Holy Family Manor is to provide quality physical, emotional, social and spiritual care with dignity and compassion, to meet the needs of the older adults we serve.
“In geriatrics, our goal is to help maximize quality of life for the aging as well as their families and caregivers, even as they experience complex health issues,” Dr. Mira said. “Holy Family Manor’s culture supports this approach because everyone is engaged with patients, residents, and caregivers as one family.”
Dr. Mira graduated from medical school at Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, in 1983 and completed a residency at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ, in 1998. He is board-certified in Geriatric Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He completed a geriatrics fellowship in Geriatrics at Oakwood Hospital, MI and a fellowship in infectious diseases at East Tennessee State University. His clinical interests include memory disorders and debility in older adults.
