Your B.E.S.T Surgery

Elderly couple running on a trail

B.E.S.T. stands for Breathe. Eat. Sleep. Train.

It is a pre-surgery health and conditioning program created by the surgical optimization team at St. Luke’s University Health Network. We care about your health and want to partner with you to help you become stronger, have more energy, sleep better and feel more relaxed heading into surgery.

Train

Just as an athlete trains to run a race, patients who condition their minds and bodies prior to surgery are more likely to have better outcomes. This includes shorter hospital stays, faster recovery times and less risk of complications.
